Most people tend to do things TO their bodies, rather than working with them.​
​Throughout the years, it’s been made more and more evident where we have been led in the wrong direction. I’ve realized what we assume, and continue to assume, about the body simply isn’t all correct.
​
​I watch as hundreds of voices on social media are telling us the “right” way to eat, new biohacking products and supplements are constantly emerging, and the flood of conflicting health opinions is causing more confusion and stress than anything else.
​​
The result of all of this? We continue to stray farther and farther from our own bodies. In our modernization and attempt to move forward, we have simultaneously taken 10 steps back.
Trusting your body, in a world where we've been conditioned to do the opposite, takes courage.

What I want to make clear is this: your body is always on your side. Every symptom, illness, and condition you experience is the body adapting to protect you. But how are we supposed to know what the body is telling us, when we’ve never truly listened to it in the first place?

This is why I’ve created BTYB.

Coming Home to Myself
My relationship with my body for most of my life was a volatile one. I was cruel to her; nothing she ever did felt good enough. I starved her, overworked her, neglected her, judged her, shamed her, and betrayed her - all while completely ignoring the messages she was sending me.

By coming back to my own body, I:

Overcame an eating disorder

Healed from leaky gut and improved my digestion

Reduced my chronically high cortisol

Worked to repair a worn out nervous system

Fell in love with my body - and myself

At my lowest point, when my eating disorder took on a life of its own and my health faced the consequences, I decided I was done. I didn't care how hard it was going to be or how long it took - I refused to live like this anymore.
​


But for a long time, I was lost. I fought with everything I had, but nothing was changing. I kept "losing". It took multiple breakdowns, on my knees, sobbing and begging for help, to finally understand what I needed to do. And I really didn't have a choice.
​
I was forced to listen to my body in ways I had never before.
I had to not only learn to trust her, but prove to her that she could trust me too. I had to spend time with her and build a relationship with her. I had to learn how to notice subtle patterns or nudges, make connections, and tie everything together. I had to get to know her for the first time. It took me years.​​
One of the scariest yet most rewarding “undoings” I’ve gone through in all of this, has been unlearning the misguided belief that our bodies don’t know what they’re doing. ​Your body is absolutely brilliant - it does not make mistakes. In reality, the body is smarter than you, me, and any person to exist.
In my refusal to listen to the noise created by those who exclaim to “know it all”, I’ve been coming home to myself more and more. Understanding your body is a bit of a lifelong mission and can be frustrating at times (take it from me), but it’s exactly why I’m so passionate about guiding others in doing the same.
​​I've believed in nutrition as medicine and the power of the body since I was 14 years old - I didn't know much at the time, but I knew there had to be pieces we were missing. Fast forward to today, and I've been working as a dietitian for 4 years now.
​
Using my studies and my own life experiences, I have worked with over 200 clients to guide them on their healing journeys. You don't have to figure this all out on your own like I did - you don't have to spend years going through trial and error. ​
​
This is what freedom is to me. This is what I am passionate about, this is where my heart lies, and this is what pulled me out of some of my darkest moments - and now, I'm here to guide you through it.
​
I'll never claim to know it all, because I don't think anyone can, but I believe in this work wholeheartedly. My life's work is dedicated to understanding the body’s intricacies, guiding others on their path to healing, and forming a deeper relationship with my own as I go along.
